Our Story

Established in 2021, Fine Feather Rocks was inspired—and continues to be guided—by serendipitous encounters with feathers, seen as signs of encouragement, guidance, and affirmation of purpose. Our journey has been one of patience and progress. In the summer of 2025, we settled into our new store in beautiful Yellow Jacket, Colorado—a magical place, peaceful and filled with positive energy. We look forward to the next chapters in our journey and hope you’ll be a part of it.

Meet the Founder

Katherine Chaffin’s path to founding Fine Feather Rocks weaves together entrepreneurial accomplishment, resilience through personal adversity, and an ever-deepening sense of purpose. With a master’s degree in counseling, Katherine has excelled as an executive recruiter, career coach, corporate trainer, and as Broker/Owner of XTROV Realty—a residential real estate and property management company she sold in 2023. Still an active real estate investor and manager of her portfolio, Fine Feather Rentals, Katherine makes her home on Yellow Jacket Farmette, also the home of Fine Feather Rocks. She now combines her inherited love of crystals, rocks, and jewelry with her intuitive ability to help others. Her personal goal, “to be of fine feather every day”—finding greater happiness, satisfaction, and purpose while empowering others to do the same.
